With Mussolini's attempt to conquer Egypt failing, Hitler reluctantly supports Il Duce and sends forces to the region under the command of Brigadier General Erwin Rommel. The battle-proven commander of the 7th "Ghost" Division during the invasion of France, Rommel arrives in Tripoli on 12 February 1941 and immediately launches bold offensives against the British with his newly formed Afrika Korps.

My second depiction of the 5th Light Panzers, at 1:35th scale, features two of the Afrika Korps figures included with Tamiya's Panzer II. The images that follow show my initial attempts at creating tactile dioramas at 1:72 scale. I now plan to combine kits and figures of both scales into single compositions for more striking and dynamic illustrations.
